TSMC’s CEO indicated supply won’t catch up until 2027. Haas points to the concentration of firms like TSMC and ASML in the semiconductor supply chain, emphasizing the risk and the industry’s adaptation to it. He also questioned the UK’s ability to build meaningful chip manufacturing capacity soon.
Haas stepped down from AstraZeneca’s board, making his cancer comments more than a talking point. He believes humanoid robots, built on Arm’s compute architecture, will perform real manufacturing and repair work within a decade. Haas dismisses job displacement fears, stating estimates of job loss are overstated and new AI-driven work will emerge.
